Before she won the hearts of both Humans and Zentraedi with her crowning as Miss Macross, Lynn-Minmei captured the interest of then-hotshot pilot Rick Hunter, who was once the Voice's knight in shining armor.
Lynn-Minmei's life is literally in the hand of Rick's Guardian-mode Veritech. During the Zentraedi siege of Macross City, stunt show pilot Rick Hunter operates a Veritech fighter for the first time and makes a new friend, 2009.
Too close. Much too close.
After spending two weeks trapped together in the bowels of the SDF-1 following its spacefold across the solar system, Minmei and Rick are
rescued, 2009.
Minmei happily helps her Uncle Max and Aunt Lena run their Chinese restaurant in the transplanted Macross City aboard the SDF-1, 2010.

Upon the suggestion of Roy Fokker, Minmei takes a break from her film production to visit an injured Rick in the hospital. Exhausted from her singing and acting schedule, she soon goes right to sleep on his bed, 2012.
At the premiere of her film "Little White Dragon," Minmei once again sings "Stage Fright" but with a zeal that makes you wonder if she thinks she is actually performing a new song, 2012.
Minmei, cousin Lynn-Kyle, micronized Zentraedi Rico, Bron, and Konda, and others attend an RDF meeting that has Zentraedi ambassador Exedore Formo present (offscreen). All watch in horror as Dolza's armada of nearly 5 million ships fills up a monitor with its appearance in Earthspace, 2012.
The Voice sings a new song, "We Will Win," which is broadcast on both Zentraedi and Human frequencies and based on Rick's idea, 2012.
With much of Earth in ruins from the bombardment cast by Dolza's armada, the SDF-1 battles toward the heart of Dolza's vessel, Minmei singing all the while and Breetai's fleet providing vital support, 2012.
Back on Earth. Minmei momentarily turns away from a hostile and drinking Lynn-Kyle after they fail to make much from a concert post-War. In time, the manager and the singer go separate ways, 2014.
Reuniting with Rick during the holiday season, Minmei has her quiet time with him interrupted by an unexpected visitor, 2014.
Captain Hayes stops by to say goodbye to Commander Hunter; Lisa's new mission will take her to deep space in search of the homeworld of the Robotech Masters. And she professes her love for him. Before the day's end, the SDFs 1 and 2, Khyron's cruiser, New Macross—and Minmei's chances of marrying Rick—are all destroyed, 2014.
At a shop in Monument City, it is Minmei's turn to play the unexpected visitor as Admiral Lisa Hayes gets her last fitting for her wedding gown, 2020.
